There are many types of Spiders and their appearances vary.  They are Arachnids and not insects and can be identified having four pairs of legs, two poison fangs, two feelers, no antennae and an unsegmented abdomen bearing several spinnerets that produce silk used to make nests, cocoons or webs for trapping insects they feed off.  Some spiders can be dangerous with their venom and the bacteria on their fangs causing serious health issues in humans and pets.  They can provoke anxiety in people and are responsible for unsightly cobwebs.

Spiders can be a pest around homes or businesses, often found around furniture, appliances, clothes, bedding, storage areas, floor boards, corners and gardens.  Most spiders only bite in self defence, when they are provoked or feel threatened, often happening by accident.

Bites from a spider may include symptoms of nausea, vomiting, abdominal, localised or generalised pain, sweating, restlessness, palpitations, weakness, muscle spasm, redness and swelling which may last from a few hours to a few days.

WHITE TAILED SPIDER

White Tailed Spiders have a dull black, elongate body with a white spot at the end of their abdomen .

RED BACK SPIDER

Mature female red backs are black with a variable red stripe on the back of their spherical abdomen.  Immature females are smaller, usually brown with whitish markings.
